Empowering you with the tools to make your business successful

What Does a Successful Business Look Like to You?

Over the years we have heard many reasons for why people open small businesses. Some start a business because they worked for someone else in the industry and realized they could deliver the same services with better quality. Some start a business because they want flexibility – agency to set their own hours and structure the work in a way that suits them. Some start a small business with the intention of it being a “side hustle” to give them a little extra income.

If you are thinking of starting a business, I want you to answer this question: What would success look like in my business?

In answering that question for Shank & Company, CPA, I am reminded of a quote on success:

Success is…knowing your purpose in life, growing to reach your maximum potential, and sowing seeds that benefit others

John C Maxwell, leadership author, speaker, and coach

“Sowing seeds that benefit others” is our reason for this series of blog posts – and the reason we are committed to providing our clients with quality services and advice. We want our clients to succeed. Because if our clients succeed, then they can make the lives of their employees and clients better.

We’ll share stories of how we’ve helped our clients grow their businesses to their fullest potential. We’ll highlight how implementing new systems or refining existing systems allowed our clients to deliver high quality, efficient services. We’ll speak on how our accounting and tax services are an asset and a valuable tool in business management.

On the second Monday of each month, we will release the next article in this series.

Look for our next installment in this series, on business goals, in July!
